This tutorial was written on April 26th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.
Supplies Needed
Tubes of Choice I used the artwork of Elias Chatzoudis, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT - mypsptubes HERE.
FTU Scrapkit 'Trendy' by Lacarolita @ Lacarolitas Designz - HERE .
Template #22 by Lacarolita @ Lacarolitas Designz - HERE .
Mask # 341 by Vix - HERE .
Eye Candy 4000 - Gradient Glow.
Font I used - East Market.
(save mask into psp folder before you begin)
Ready to Start... Open your template, hit shift & d on the keyboard to duplicate, now you can close the original template. Delete the info layer. I resized here, go to image, resize and make sure resize all layers is checked, resize by around 75%.
Click on the white background layer, go to image, canvas size and resize to 500x500, floodfill white, this gives us more room to work and you can crop & resize finished tag later on.
Click on Raster 1 layer, go to selections, select all, select float, select defloat and paste paper 7 from the kit as a new layer, resize paper to your liking then go to selections, invert and hit delete on the keyboard, selections, select none and then delete the original raster 1 layer.
Go to effects tab, select eye candy gradient glow with the following settings :-
Glow Width - 3.00 Soft Corners - 25 Overall Opacitiy - 100 Colour - Black or colour of your choice.
You can also slide the tab along to make bolder but i left this one quite light.
Repeat the same step as above for Raster 2 layer using paper 3 from the kit. No gradient glow needed on this layer. Click on Raster 3 layer, go to adjust, brightness/contrast and move brightness slider all the way left to -255. This will make the dots black I added a slight dropshadow to this layer.
Repeat this step again on Raster 4 layer, give it the same dropshadow.
Click on Raster 5 layer, selections, select all, select float, select defloat and paste paper 4, resize to your liking, selections, select inver and then hit delete on your keyboard, select none. You can delete the original layer now. No need to gradient glow or shadow this layer.
Click on Raster 6 layer, i left this black, go to effects, eye candy 4000, gradient glow and following settings :-
Glow Width - 3.00 Soft Corners - 25 Overall Opacitiy - 100 Colour - White. Click the setting - Fat on this layer to make it thicker. Add a dropshadow of your choice.
Now on the top layer, paste your tube, resize to your liking and place like mine within the frame, grab your eraser tool to erase any tube bit hanging over the bottom of the frame, dropshadow your tube.
Now click on the very bottom white layer, paste paper 1 from the kit, resize a little but make sure it still covers whole background go to layers, load mask from disk and load the mask we saved at the start (vix mask #341) Make sure the following settings are set...
Fit to canvas - checked Source luminace - checked Invert transparency - unchecked Hide Mask - checked. then go to layers, merge group & resize to suit your tag using the deform tool to strecth it out a bit if needed.
I duplicated this layer and mirrored.
Now add any elements you like from the kit, resize them as needed and place where liked, dropshadow elements.
I also typed the word 'TRENDY' and placed in bottom rectangle.
Crop & resize your tag now if you want to make it a bit smaller.
Add your name, I used East Market font and used paper 7 for my font fill. Add the gradient glow - colour white to your name if you wish, dropshadow.
Add artist info and copyright info.
Save as jpeg or .png. and we're done i think lol.
