Catwalk Star

This tutorial was written on April 27th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.

Supplies Needed
Tubes of Choice I used the artwork of Elias Chatzoudis, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT - mypsptubes - HERE .
FTU Scrap Kit Me & My Girls by Kerrys Kreations - HERE .
Template #5 by Witchy's Heart - HERE .
Mask #162 by Wee Scots Lass @ weescotslass creations - HERE .
Wordart #17 by Missy @ Divine Intentions - HERE .
Font of Choice Plugin - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow & Textured Effects, Weave.

(save mask to psp folder before you start)

Open your template, hit shift & d on the keyboard to duplicate, now you can close the original template. Delete info layer.
I resized here, go to image, resize and make sure resize all layers is checked, resize by around 75%.

Click on the white background layer, go to image, canvas size and resize to 500x500, floodfill white, this gives us more room to work and you can crop & resize finished tag later on
(my sizes are just a guide and you can resize to your liking) .

Click on Raster 4 layer, go to selections, select all, select float, select defloat and paste paper of choice as a new layer, resize it till your happy with it then selections, invert & hit delete on the keyboard, selections, select none. I used the magic wand and selected the middle rectangle to paste a different paper. Delete the original layer.

Click on Raster 5 layer, repeat step above with different paper, delete the original layer and add a dropshadow to the new layer.

Click on Raster 3 layer, repeat step above with different paper, after hitting delete on keyboard do not deselect yet, go to effects and choose textured effects and the following settings :-
Gap Size - 2....Width size - 2......Opacitiy - 3....Colour - to match your tube.

Now add gradient glow, go to effects, eye candy 4000, gradient glow and the following settings :- Glow - 4.00....Soft Corners - 25....Overall Opacity - 100......Colour - to match your tube....Fat setting.
Add a dropshadow to this layer and delete original raster 3 layer.

Click on Raster 6 layer now, go to adjust, select brightness/contrast, move the brightness slider all the way left to -255 to change the stars to black, you can colourise any colour you wish tho.
On the new layer go to effects & add gradient glow with the following setting :- Glow - 3.00....Soft Corners - 25....Overall Opacity - 100......Colour - White. I didnt do the Fat setting on this layer. Add a small dropshadow.

Click on Raster 7 layer, select all, select float, select defloat and paste paper of choice then resize the paper a bit, go to selections, select invert and hit delete on the keyboard, you can delete the original layer now.
On the new layer go to effects & add gradient glow with the same settings as the last step. Add a small dropshadow.

Now click on Raster 2 layer, grab the deform tool and while holing shift stretch the shape out a bit at bottom, drag it in at top ends so it kinda looks like a stage (hope this makes sense lol). Once happy with it duplicate then go to effects, textured effects, weave with the same setting we used before, now go to layers, resize by 80%, back on the plain layered shape, add the small gradient glow, first with colour to match your tube then do the gradient glow once more changing colour to white. Add small dropshadow.

Open Missy wordart 17, paste on top layer of your canvas, go to image, rotate, choose free rotate, tick left and rotate by 90 degrees left, now resize so it fits into the left rectangle, once happy with it, go to selections, select all, select float, select defloat and paste paper of choice, selections, select invert and hit delete on the keyboard then selections, select none.
Add gradient glow if you wish and dropshadow, you can also delete the original wordart layer now.
Duplicate the wordart, go to image, rotate, choose free rotate and rotate by 90 degrees right this time, go back to image, rotate and repeat by 90 degrees right once more, move over to right hand rectangle.
Paste the smaller words from the wordart, go to adjust, colourise and pick a colour to match large word. See mine for placement or place where you like, add a dropshadow to this layer then duplicate and move duplicated layer to right side rectangle.

Add your tube, resize to your liking and give a dropshadow .

Open the kks Gem2 from the kit, paste as new layer and resize so it fits nicely in the stage shape centre, use the deform tool to stretch out the bottom nozzles and drag in the top nozzles then drag the centre nozzle down a little so the star looks flat. Remember to hold shift down while stretching and dragging Add gradient glow, colour white and then dropshadow.

Now click on the bottom white layer, paste a paper from the kit, go to layers, load mask from disk and find the mask we loaded at the start (WSL #162). Make sure the following settings are set...
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked .... then go to layers, merge group & resize to suit your tag using the deform tool to strecth it out a bit if needed.
I duplicated this layer, move duplicated mask below the original mask layer then go to layers, brightness/contrast & change brightness to -255 to darken it then used deform tool to pull it out just a little , see mine for example.

Add any other elements you want to from the kit and place where liked, dropshadow the elements.

Nows the time to crop or resize if you want to.

Add your name, Font I used was 'Franklin Gothic Heavy' and I used the deform tool again to shape it.
Add artist info and copyright info.

Save as jpeg or .png. and we're done i think lol.
Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it would love to see your results, hippiedaze@hotmail.com
