Witch Fall (FTU)

This tutorial was written on October 30th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.

Supplies Needed

Tube/s of Choice, I used the artwork of Keith Garvey, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT - mypsptubes - HERE .
FTU Scrap Kit ' Fall Is Here' by Lacarolita @ Lacarolita's Designs - HERE
Template Used - #77 by Lou @ Truly toxic and you can snag from Lou's Blog - HERE.
Mask Used - #196 by Vix and you can get to Vix's masks - HERE.
Font of Choice for your Name.
Dropshadow (optional).

Open all supplies before you start & save mask to psp masks folder if you dont already have this ....

Lets Get Started....

Open Lous Template and
hit shift & d on your keyboard, this pastes the template as new image, close the original template this will save the original untouched for future use.
Now close the original template.
Delete info layer on your new template image.
Go to image, select resize and choose to resize by 90% smartsize and make sure the box that says resize all layers is CHECKED.
Now make sure your on the bottom white layer and go to image again, select canvas size this time and resize canvas to 600x600 or whichever size you are comfy to work with,
make sure all layers is unchecked this time and click ok, we can crop a little later if needed.

Ok now activate one of the circle layers on your canvas and go to selections, select all, select float, select defloat then take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to image and select resize and choose resize by 80% smartsize with resize all layers UNCHECKED, now go to selections and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard, this will erase the paper from around the circle, now you can go to selections and select none. You can now delete the original circle layer.

Repeat that step with the other 2 circle layers using different papers and delete the original circle layers when done.

Do the same step again for the stars layer using another paper of your choice, delete the original layer here too.

You can add a small dropshadow to all the template layers if you wish, will leave this up to you lol.

Now activate the bottom white layer and take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer, resize a little if you wish to but not smaller than the canvas size, now go to layers an select load mask from disc and find the mask that you saved at the start which is Vix Mask 196, use the following settings to add to your canvas :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group, you can use the deform tool and stretch out the nodes a little to cover more of the background if you wish to.

Click back to the top layer of your canvas now and take one of the tree elements from the kit & paste as a new layer, elements are quite large so resize as needed accordingly to suit your tag, one resized move tree to left side of canvas and move up towards top just a little.

Take the scarecrow element from the kit and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and move to below tree layer, you can also use the dropshadow on your elements if you want to, i did on some and left the others as they were.

Take the bench element from the kit, paste as a new layer and resize as needed then move this over near the tree, see mine as an example, again add dropshadow if you wish.

Making sure your on the top layer of your canvas, take your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, remember tubes should be resize bicubic and elements smartsize. once resized move to right side of your canvas and position how you want it, add dropshadow to tube layer.

Take the wagon element from the kit and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and place a little to left of the canvas.

Now take one of the grass elements and paste as a new layer, resize this to your liking and move layer below the wagon layer, place at bottom left of the canvas, now go to layers and duplicate the grass as many times as needed to go all the way along the bottom of your tag. I didnt use the dropshadow on the grass layers, also i added an extra grass layer above the wagon layer and resize a little smaller than the rest, this is up to you though.

Now take the ivy 4 element and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and place amongst the grass layers, duplicate this a couple of times and spread out along the bottom of your tag.

I think we are almost done, you can add a few other elements of your choice if you wish, i added the tub of apples and a couple of the pumpkins and a butterfly, decorate your tag to your liking.

Now crop or resize your tag if you want to, you do this by grabbing the crop tool from the tool palette then drag your cursor around the area you want to crop then go to the tool bar and click the tab with the tick icon to confim the crop, remember to leave enough room for your name and copyright though lol.

Add your name, artist info and copyright info.

Save as jpeg or .png.

Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it
would love to see your results,

I'm A Cutie Survivor (ftu)

This tutorial was written on Oct 23rd 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.

Supplies Needed

Tube of Choice I used the artwork of Elias Chatzoudis, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT, mypsptubes - HERE .
FTU Scrap Kit 'Thinking Pink' by Lacarolita @ Lacarolitas Designs - HERE.
No Template Used.
Mask Used - WSL Mask 84 by Chelle @ Wee Scots Lass Creations - HERE.
Pluging Used - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.
Effects Used - Blur, Guassian Blur.

Open all supplies and save mask to your psp masks folder before you begin.

Lets Get Started....

Open a new image in your psp by going to file tab and select new, choose 500x500 white image, click ok.

Choose one of the round frames from the kit and paste as a new layer on your new working canvas, go to image, select resize and choose resize by around 45% smartsize and make sure the resize all layers box is left unchecked so we are only resizing one layer lol. frame will be positioned in the middle of your canvas.

Paste your choosen tube as a new layer if you are using the same tube as me, go to resize and resize by around 85% bicubic and position where it looks good, move the tube layer to below the frame layer then go to layers and select duplicate, move the duplicate tube layer to top of the canvas and be careful not to move tube layers, making sure your on the top tube layer take your eraser tool and erase parts of the tube so that the flowers are showing and parts of the tube are behind frame (see mine as an example).

Activate the frame layer now and grab your magic wand then click inside the transparent middle of the frame so the marching ants are blinking, be sure to click the small parts btwn the flowers too so all is selected, now paste a paper from the kit as a new layer and resize by 80% smartsize then go to selections and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard, go back to selections and select none, move this paper layer under the frame layer now. Add a drop shadow of your choice to the frame if you wish to.

Activate the bottom white layer and choose a colour that goes with your tube as th foreground colour, take your fill tool and click on the white canvas to fill with your choosen colour, now go to layers, select load mask from disc and find the mask that you saved at the start which is wsl mask #84, use the following settings :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - unchecked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group.
I duplicated the mask layer and went to image then selected mirror so you have more showing all round the frame.

Activate the bottom white layer again and then grab your eclipse tool from the tool palette, make sure foreground colour is set to null and background set to a colour of your choice, i used a pink shade here, now draw out an eclipse shape just a little smaller than the frame, when happy with eclipse go to layers and select convert to raster layer, no go to adjust and select blur, choose guassian blur and set to 20.00, click ok. This doesnt show much lol but gives a lighter glow.

Now finally back to the top layer of the canvas and your ready to decorate with some of the vast selection of elements in this kit, add each element as a new layer and resize as needed then place them where you like on your canvas, you can also add a dropshadow to each element if you wish but i didnt on this one.

Crop or resize now if you wish to in the usual way.

Add your name, artist info and copyright info.

Save as jpeg or .png.

Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it
would love to see your results,

Spook Story (ftu)

This tutorial was written on October 22nd 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.

Supplies Needed

Tube of Choice, I used the artwork of Dave Nestler, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit CILM - HERE .
Scrap Kit Used - 'All Hallow's Eve' by Alyssa @ Alyssa's Scraps & Stuff (part of All Hallows Eve blog train which you can download from - HERE.
Template Used - Halloween Template #3 by Vix -
HERE.
Mask Of Choice - I used a mask called KK Witch Trio which I dont know where i got it so if this is yours pls let me know so i can give credit or take it down.
Plugin Used - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.
Effects Used - Blur - Guassian Blur.

Open your mask and save to psp masks folder before you begin...

Ready....

Open the template in your psp workspace and then
hit shift & d on your keyboard, this pastes the template as new image, close the original template, this will save the original untouched for future use, go to image, select resize and choose to resize by around 85% smartsize and make sure you check the box that says resize all layers. Delete the info layer now.

The background layer is x'd out at the moment so we can leave it like that for now.

Activate the layer named pentagram centre and go to selections, select all, select float, select defloat then take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to selections and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard to erase the paper around the outsides of the pentagram shape, now go to selections again and select none. Do not delete the original layer yet we are keeping this for later.

Repeat the step above for the star fill layer with a different paper from the kit, you can delete the original layer this time.

I left the wordart fill as it was, also left the pentagram fill and outlines as they were too but the choice is yours to colourise or whatever you wish.

Activate the wordart circle layer and go to effects, select eye candy 4000, gradient glow and use the following settings to add a glow around the words :-
Glow Width - 3.00 .... Soft Corners - 25 .... Overall Opacity - 100 .... Colour - White, you can also move the colour slider along to make the glow bolder if you wish, i only moved a little so it wasnt too bold, click ok.

Activate the bottom layer of your canvas and take the splat element from the kit then paste as a new layer, go to image, select resize and choose to resize the splat by 80% smartsize and make sure resize all layers box is unchecked this time, I mirrored this element.

Activate the bottom layer again now and paste a paper from the kit as a new layer, go to layers and select load mask from disc then find the mask that you choose at the start and use the following settings :-

Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - checked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group. If you have the same mask as i used then once merged go to image and select resize, choose resize image by 50% smartsize and move to top left corner of your canvas, no go to layers and select duplicate and then image and choose mirror, move the mirrored layer to the bottom right corner of your canvas so the ghosts are peeking from behind the circle.

Now activate the original pentagram centre fill, i left the colour as it was as it matches the colours in the kit i used, go to layers, select blur and choose guassian blur with setting to 20.00, move this layer all the way to bottom of canvas just above the splat layer.

Un do the x out on the background layer if you want to now or you can leave transparent but i used the white as the background in my tag.

Activate the top layer of the canvas and take your tube, paste as a new layer and resize a little if needed then place where you want on the canvas, mines the middle but depending on your choice of tube place where you like it, add a small white dropshadow to the tube.

Decorate your tag with any other elements from the kit, paste each element as a new layer, resize as needed and place where you want them, dropshadow elements is optional.

When your finished adding elements thats us about done, all thats left now is to crop or resize if you didnt at the start.

Add your name, artist info & copyright.
Save as jpeg or .png.

Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it
would love to see your results,

Grab your text tool and pick a font of your choice, type out a phase to go with your tag, i used 'falling for you', colours of your choice again and when happy with text click apply then move to where you want it on the tag, when happy with the placement go to layers and select convert to raster layer, add dropshadow to text (optional).

Activate the bottom white layer and paste a paper from the kit as a new layer, go to layers, select load mask from disc and find the 1st mask that you saved at the start (WSL #84) use the following settings :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group.

Go to layers and select duplicate then go to image and choose mirror, go to image again and choose flip, dont get dizzy lol.

Once your done adding the elements to your tag crop or resize if you didnt at the start.

Add your name, artist info & copyright.
Save as jpeg or .png.

Witchy Boo Brew

This tutorial was written on Oct 18th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.

FTU Scrap Kit 'Wicked' by Chassity @ Polka Dot Scraps and you can download from - HERE.
Template Used - #27 by Lori @ Wacky Scraps, you can get this from Lori's blog - HERE.
Mask Used - Mask 31 by vix, you can get this mask from -
HERE.
2nd Mask Used - WSL Mask #169 by Chelle @ Wee Scots Lass Creations - HERE.
Plugin Used - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.
Dropshadow is optional.

Open all supplies before you start & save mask to psp masks folder if you dont already have this ....

Lets Get Started....

Open the template, hit shift & d on your keyboard, this pastes the template as new image, close the original template. Delete info layer, this will save the original untouched for future use, go to image, select resize and choose to resize by around 85% smartsize and make sure you check the box that says resize all layers.

Activate the layer named boo, go to selections, select all, select float, select defloat then take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to selections again and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard to erase the excess paper, go to selections and select none. Delete the original circle layer.
Go to effects and select eye candy 4000 gradient glow and insert the following settings :-
Glow Width - 3.00 .... Soft Corners - 25 .... Overall Opacity - 100 .... Colour - Black, you can also move the colour slider along to make the glow bolder if you wish, click ok.

Now on both circle layers repeat the step you just did above, I used the same paper on both circles but use different ones if you wish, add the same gradient glow to both these layers and delete the original layers.

On both the diamond dashed circle layers i added the gradient glow used in the steps above but changed the colour to white and didnt move the colour slider as i didnt want this one too bold, once you've added the glow in white, repeat gradient glow and change colour back to black.

I decided to leave the 3 mat layers out of this tutorial but you can colourise or fill with a paper from the kit if you want to.

Take the round frame from the kit and paste this as a new layer on your working canvas. you may need to resize a little depending on the size you work with, move this layer right down to the layer above the white background then grab your magic wand and click inside the middle bit of the frame, go to selections, select modify and choose expand then choose expand by 3, click ok, now take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to selections and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard. move this new layer to below the frame layer.

Activate the bottom white layer and paste a paper from the kit as a new layer, go to layers, select load mask from disc and find the 1st mask that you saved at the start (Vix Mask #31) use the following settings :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - checked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group. I used my deform tool and stretched the mask out slightly.

Activate the bottom white layer once more and paste a different paper from the kit as a new layer,
go to layers, select load mask from disc and find the 2nd mask that you saved at the start (WSL #169) use the following settings :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group. Again use the deform tool to stretch the mask to your liking.

Now activate the top layer of your canvas and paste your choosen tube as a new layer, resize a little if needed, remember to resize tubes in bicubic mode place tube where you like it on your canvas and add a small dropshadow, i used white for the shadow.

Now you can start decorating your tag with any elements you like from the kit or you can follow mine, remember each element should be on a new layer and resize each as needed, place where you like and add a small dropshadow if you wish to.

Once you finish decorating your tag crop or resize if you didnt at the start.

Add your name, artist info & copyright.
Save as jpeg or .png.

All done i think.

Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it
would love to see your results, pls feel free to email results to me

Witchy Halloween (FTU)

This tutorial was written on October 16th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.

FTU Scrap Kit 'October Ghost Train' by Charlie @ My Scrapping Book, this is a part of the Halloween Town Ghost Train and can be downloaded - HERE.
Template Used - Vix Halloween Mask #2 by Vix, which you can download along with her other halloween templates - HERE.
FTU Frame Used - Frame Freebie by Susan aka Hippiedaze which you can download from my blog - HERE.
Mask of Choice.
Plugin Used - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.
Effects Used - Textured Effects - Blinds.
Dropshadow of choice (optional).

Open all supplies before you start & save mask to psp masks folder if you dont already have this ....

Lets Get Started....

Open the template, hit shift & d on your keyboard, this pastes the template as new image, close the original template. Delete info layer, go to image, select resize, choose resize 80%, choose smartsize and make sure the box resize all layers is checked, the bottom layer in this template is x'd out so we will leave it like that for now.

I left most of the template the way it was for this one as the colours went really well, but you can change the colours if you wish to, i did however add a gradient glow to the rectangles layer, make sure you are on the rectangles layer and go to effects, choose eye candy 4000, then choose gradient glow and use the following settings to add the glow to the rectangles :-
Glow Width - 3.00 .... Soft Corners - 25 .... Overall Opacity - 100 .... Colour - white, move the slider to all the way along to the right to make quite bold, click ok.

Activate the wordart layer and go to effects again, select the eye candy 4000, gradient glow and add the same glow as we just added above but this time move the colour slider left to around half way, the glow shouldnt be as bold as the rectangles.

Both the dotted lines layers were left as they are in this tutorial, again i just felt the colours worked well in the tag, you can always change the colours on these layers if you wish to.

I deleted the skulls for this tutorial but again this is up to you.

Activate the stars layers and simply add a small dropshadow of your choice to this layer.

Take the hippiedaze frame freebie and paste as a new layer, move layer all the way down to just above the white layer and go to image, select resize and choose resize smartsize by around 90% or whichever you like best, position in middle of your canvas.

Now take your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed then move as close to bottom of frame as you can then grab your eraser tool to erase some of the bottom of tube so its neat around the frame, I added a white dropshdow to my tube so it stood out more.

Activate the wordart layer and grab your selection tool, rectangle, draw a selection around the bottom words and then right click and choose cut, now go to selections and select none then right click and choose paste as a new layer, use your mover tool to move the wordart back to where it was but move the bottom words on the new layer that you just pasted up to above the tube layer, see mine as example but you should have the top words below tube and bottom words above tube layer.

Take the doodle 3 from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to image and select resize, choose to resize around 60% smartsize and move to left side of the canvas, when happy with placement go to layers, select duplicate and then go to image and select mirror so you have a doodle on either side.
Move both these layers below the tube layer.

Take the doodle 2 from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to image and select resize, choose resize smartsize to your liking and place on right side of canvas nearer the middle, when happy with placement go to layers, select duplicate the go to image and select mirror so you have the green doodle on both sides, check mine as a guide.

Take the icepends and paste as a new layer on the canvas, resize as needed and place top edge in line with the top edge of the worart, i added a slight white dropshadow to the icepends.

Grab your eclipse tool from the tool palette and activate the layer below the frame layer, in your foreground colour select the orange that matches the rectangle layer if your using the same as me, you can choose any colour you wish tho, now draw out a large eclipse that covers all the inner frame, ok once your happy with this and its covering all the inner frame go to layers and select convert to raster layer.
Now go to effects and choose textured effects, select blinds and use the following settings to the circle layer :-
Width -10 .... Opacity - 34 .... Colour - #bc00e2 .... Horizontal - Unchecked .... Light From Top - Checked, click ok.

Activate the bottom layer (the x'd out one lol) and fill with a colour of choice that matches your tube and colours, go to layers select load mask from disc and choose the first mask that you choose and saved at the start use the following settings :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group. I used my deform tool and stretched the mask out a little to cover more background. You can also duplicate the mask and flip or mirror to make more vivid if you wish.

Now go back and activate the top layer of your canvas and add any other elements that you want to from the kit, i didnt add many to this one i wanted reasonably plain lol, paste all elements you use on new layers and resize as needed then you can place where you want to around the tag and add a small dropshadow in white or black if you wish.

Once you finish decorating your tag crop or resize if you didnt at the start.

Add your name, artist info & copyright.
Save as jpeg or .png.

And I think thats us about done.

Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it
would love to see your results,

Welcome to Halloween Town (FTU)

This tutorial was written on Oct 9th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.

Supplies Needed

Tubes of Choice I used the artwork of Elias Chatzoudis, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT, mypsptubes - HERE .
FTU Scrap Kit 'Halloween Town' by Hippiedaze (me), this is my part of the Halloween Town Ghost Train and can be downloaded from - HERE.
Masks - A round mask of your choice for the background.
Mask Used - dmsk0406 (skeleton mask, this is optional) which can be found - HERE.

Open all supplies before you start & save mask to psp masks folder if you dont already have this ....

Lets Get Started....

Open a new image in your psp by going to file tab and select new, choose 500x500 white image, click ok.

Take the haunted house element from the kit and paste as a new layer on your working canvas, you will need to resize so go to image, select resize and choose to resize by around 50% , make sure you tick the smartsize box then click ok.

Activate the bottom white layer of your canvas and paste a paper of choice from the kit as a new layer, you can resize this a little if you want to but i left mine normal size, go to layers and select load mask from disc, in the drop list of masks look for the round mask you choose at the start use the following settings to add the mask to your canvas :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group, I left this mask as it was but you can always use your deform tool to stretch the mask layer out a little till its how you want it & showing around your tag.

Activate the bottom white layer once more and paste a different coloured paper as a new layer, repeat the mask layer with the same mask again and once you have merged group use the deform tool to pull it out slightly more than the first mask, see mine as example.
I also used yet another mask below the house layer to create the devil figure up on the roof lol, its a halloween one that i have had a while and cannot find the link sorry so if you know it pls let me know so i can give credit.

Now take one of the tree elements from the kit and paste this as a new layer above your mask layers but below the house layer, go to image, select resize and resize the tree to your liking (not too big tho), move to the left side of your tag so its poking out from behind the house, when happy with placement and size go to layers and select duplicate, now go to image and select mirror so you have a tree on each side of the house.
I also duplicated the tree twice more and placed near the top so some branches were showing from behind house at the top but this is up to you.

Take the ghost element from the kit and paste this as a new layer on your working canvas, resize this to your liking, i made mine quite small, move ghost to the right side of the canvas so its poking from behind the house or in the trees, wherever you like lol then duplicate and move the second ghost to the left side of the tag and place where you like it.

Now make sure you are on the top layer of your canvas and take one of your tubes, paste as a new layer then go to image and select resize, resize bicubic remember lol, resize to your liking to suit your tag, move tube to left side of your canvas and add a drop shadow.
Take your second tube (by the same artist lol) and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and move this tube to the right side of your canvas, add the dropshadow to this layer also.

Choose one of the coffin elements from the kit and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, remember to change to smartsize, move the coffin down to near the bottom of the tag....

(optional step)

Now we're going to leave this canvas a minute and go to file, open a new blank transparent image about 400x400, click ok.

Take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer, resize a little if you want to now go to layers
and select load mask from disc, in the drop list of masks look for the skeleton mask you saved at the start (dmsk0406) use the following settings to add the mask to your canvas :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group.

Copy the merged mask layer and go back to your working canvas and paste as a new layer, you may need to resize the skeleton to 'fit' the coffin, move skeleton down and position so it looks like its coming out of the coffin, you will notice the leg parts hang over the coffin so grab your eraser tool and carefully erase some parts of the leg, i left the hand hangin over tho. I lightened the skeleton to almost white by going to adjust, select brightness/contrast and move the brightness slider a little at a time to the right until you have a shade you like.

Decorate your tag now with any other elements you like from the kit and paste as new layers, resize each element as needed and place where you like them in your tag.

Crop or resize now if you wish to.

Add your name, artist info and copyright info.

Save as jpeg or .png.
