This tutorial was written on November 17th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.
Supplies Needed
Tube/s of Choice, I used the artwork of Sonia Roji, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT - mypsptubes - HERE .
FTU Scrap Kit 'Pink Ice' by Lacarolita @ Lacarolita's Designs - HERE.
No Templates Used.
Mask Used - Vix Mask #167 which you can download from - HERE.
Plugin Used - Toadies, Blast 'n' Blur.
2nd Plugin Used - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow (on your name).
Get all your supplies ready before we start....
Open a new image in your psp by going to file tab and select new, choose 500x500 white image, click ok.
Take the round frame from the kit and paste as a new layer, go to image, select resize and then choose to resize around 40% smartsize and make sure you have the resize all layers box unchecked then click ok, place the doors in the centre of your canvas, we will add a dropshadow to the frame but not until later in the tutorial
Grab your magic wand tool from the tool palette and click the transparent area inside of the frame so you have the blinking ants showing around the inner part, go to selections and choose modify, select expand and choose to expand by around 6, click ok now.
Take a paper from the kit and paste as a new layer then go to image and select resize, choose to resize by around 70% smartsize and pls remember to uncheck the resize all layers box this time, click ok then go to selections and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard, go back to selections and select none, now your chosen paper should be neatly inside the frame yes ? lol i hope so.
Take one of the stars curtains elements from the kit and paste as a new layer above the paper layer but below the frame layer, resize this as needed so it sits nicely inside the inner frame part, you can also add a dropshadow to this layer if you like.
Take the snowman element from the kit and paste this as a new layer, move to above the frame layer and resize as needed till its to your liking, move to left side of your canvas and add a dropshadow to this layer also.
Take the christmas tree element from the kit and paste as a new layer, resize this quite small, i used 40% twice and move to near top of inner frame, you can also use your deform tool to roate slightly to the right if you wish to, i didnt use the dropshadow on this layer.
Choose one of the brad buttons and paste as a new layer now, resize as needed and place where it looks good for you, if you decide to rotate this a little then i suggest using the sharpen tool after so the button words are clearer.
Now take your tube and paste as a new layer on top layer of canvas, resize a little as needed and place like mine from right side of your canvas, add a small dropshadow to the tube layer.
Take the skating boots and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and place near bottom left side of the canvas, add the dropshadow here if you wish.
Finally lol take the stocking element and paste this as a new layer, resize to your liking and place like mine over the snowmans arm branch, take your eraser tool to erase a little of the stocking hoop so it appears to be hanging over his arm.
Activate the frame layer again now and go to layers, select duplicate, nove this layer all the way down to below the original frame then go to effects and select Toadies, blast n blur with the default setting and click ok.
Activate the bottom white layer and paste a paper of choice from the kit as a new layer, go to layers and select load mask from disc then look for the mask that you saved at the start (#167) and use the following settings :-
Fit to canvas - checked .... Source luminace - checked .... Invert transparency - unchecked .... Hide Mask - checked, click ok, go to layers, merge group. Now move this layer to above the copy of frame layer and use your deform tool to stretch it out a little so you get more of the mask showing around the main frame.
Feel free to add any other elements to your tag if you wish to, mines just a guide
Now its time to crop or resize if you want to, i didnt on this one.
Add your name, artist info and copyright info.
Add a small gradient glow of your choice to your name and dropshadow.
Save as jpeg or .png.
