This tutorial was written on November 23rd 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.
Supplies Needed
Tube/s of Choice, I used the artwork of Keith Garvey, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT - mypsptubes - HERE .
FTU Scrap Kit 'Golfing Daze' by Susan aka Hippiedaze and you can download this from my blog - HERE.
Template Used - Missy Template #217 by Missy and can be found on her blog - HERE.
Mask Used - WSL Mask #84 by Chelle @ Wee Scots Lass Creations, you can get this from Chelles blog - HERE.
Plugin Used - Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.
Effects Used - Textured Effects - Weave.
Dropshadow throughout.
Save mask to your psp folder and open all supplies needed before we begin....
Ready...
Open the template in your psp workspace and hit ctrl & d to duplicate the template, this way you will save the original template for re using again and again, close the orginial now and on the new image delete the copyright layer, go to image and select resize then choose to resize all layers by 80% smartsize, just make sure the resize all layers box is checked for this one, click ok.
This is just a guide for the size i prefer to work with, you can resize to whichever size suits you.
Activate the rectangle layer on your copy of template and go to selections, select all, select float then select defloat, now pick a paper from the kit then paste as a new layer, resize by 80% smartsize twice and make sure the paper is covering the marching ants, now go to selections and select invert then hit delete on your keyboard, go back to selections and select none, you can delete the original rectangle layer now.
Repeat the above step for all the other template layers except the dotted circle layer and top and bottom thin rectangles layers, use different papers if you wish and delete all the original layers as you work.
Now we will add a gradient glow to all the above layers so go to effects and select eye candy 4000, gradient glow and use the following settings :-
Glow Width - 5.00 ... Soft Corners - 25 ... Opacity - 100 ... Colour - White, click the colour tab and move the slider about halfway to the middle of the grid, this will make the glow a little bolder, click ok, now add a small dropshadow of your choice.
Work your way through the other template layers you created and add the smale glow and shadow.
Activate the dotted circle layer and I left these black but you can change the colour if you wish to, add the same gradient glow as we used in the step above then add the same dropshadow too.
Activate the top thin rectangle layer now and go to adjust, select hue/saturation/lightness then select colourise, change to colour that matches your tube and tag, i choose green for mine, now go to effects and select textured effects, weave and use the following settings :-
Gap - 2 ... Width - 7 ... Opacity - 9 ... Weave colour - Pink ... Gap colour - Pink ... Fill Gaps - Checked, click ok.
Now add the gradient glow we used before on this layer.
Repeat that step for the bottom thin rectangle layer.
Make sure your on the top thin rectangle layer and choose a font of your choice and select white for your background fill and null for the foreground, now type out the words 'Golf Babe' or whichever phrase you want, adjust the size till it fits neat inside the top thin rectangle the add a small dropshadow.
Take one of the golf ball lines element from the kit and paste as a new layer, you will need to resize so go to image and select resize, choose resize by 80% smartsize and make sure the resize all layers box is unchecked, click ok then go back and resize by 80% smartsize once more, place the line of balls over the middle rectangle and use the deform tool if you need to pull the ends in a little so the balls arent overlapping the rectangle, add the same dropshadow to this layer too.
Take the golfing buggy element from the kit and paste this as a new layer on your working canvas, resize as needed and place near bottom left of your tag, add the dropshadow.
Add your tube by pasting as a new layer, resize as needed, remember resize tubes by bicubic, place in centre but slightly to the right side of your tag and add a dropshadow.
Choose one of the star burst elements and paste as a new layer, resize by around 50% smartsize and place near top left of your tag, now go to layers and select duplicate, go to image and select flip, go back to layers and select duplicate again then back to layers and select mirror, click layers again and duplicate then image and flip, this should give you the star clusters in all 4 corners of the tag, move all these layers down to just above the white background layer.
Activate the white background layer now and paste a paper of choice as a new layer, resize by 80% smartsize and go to layers then select load mask from disc and choose the mask that you saved at the start (wsl mask #84) use the following settings :-
Source Luminace - Checked ... Fit to Canvas - Checked ... Invert Transparency - Unchecked ... Hide all Mask - Checked, click ok then go to the layer palette and merge group. I clicked the deform tool now and on the middle right side node i pulled it in to make the mask layer narrower, move it more to the left then go to layers and select duplicate, go to image and select mirror, now go to adjust and select hue/saturation/lightness and then select colourise, choose an alternate colour that matches your tag to colourise the second mask layer.
Back to the top layer of your canvas and time to dress your tag up with any other elements you wish to use from the kit, elements will need to be resized a little and add a dropshadow to each layer, place where you like around the canvas.
Now if you want to crop or resize the tag do it now as resizing can sometimes make the text layers fuzzy.
Add your name in your font of choice, i added the same weave as the thin rectangle layers to my name, so if you wish to do this the settings are the same as above.
Add artist info, copyright info and your own info.
All done.
Save your tag as a jpeg or png file.
Thanks for trying my tutorial, I hope you enjoyed it and as always id love you to send your creations, addy is over there on the right>>>>
