This tutorial was written on April 25th 2009 by Susan aka Hippiedaze.
The idea for this tag is off my own head lol and any resemblance is purely coincidence.
General Knowledge of psp is required, tutorial was written in psp 9 but will work in other versions.
Supplies Needed
Tubes of Choice, I used quite a few different tubes with the artwork of Keith Garvey, you must have a proper license to use his work please visit MPT - mypsptubes - HERE .
PTU Scrap Kit by Tracey @ Soxsational Scraps ............waiting to hear from Tracey with a link as the site has been removed but you can use a different kit.
Template #42 by Melissa @ Melissas Creations - HERE .
Mask #12 by WSL - HERE .
Plugin - Eye Candy 4000 - Gradient Glow.
Effects - Textured Effects - Blinds.
Font of choice.
(save mask in psp folder before beginning)
Lets Get Started
Open the template, hit shift & d on your keyboard, this pastes the template as new image, close the original template.
Delete info layer, I resized mine a little at this point, go to image, resize, change width & height to suit, choose smartsize and make sure resize all layers is checked, if you prefer you can skip the resizing and can resize later, i just find it easier working with it at this size.
Click on the Filmstrip Background layer, select all, select float, select defloat and paste a paper of choice as a new layer, a plain paper works well here, resize a little if needed then go to selections, select invert then hit delete on the keyboard, select none.
Click on a Filmstrip layer, grab magic wand, click one of the white square areas, see the marching ants ? got to selections, select modify, expand by 2, paste one of the tubes, resize if needed, position where liked inside the marching ants then selections, invert and hit delete on the keyboard then select none.
Repeat this step for all the squares on all the Filmstrip layers, be sure that you click back onto the Filmstrip layer after adding each tube,
Now click on the first tube posted, go to adjust, hue/saturation/lightness, see if the colourise tab is ticked, if not then tick it now, this changes the tube to a b/w.
Still on the tube layer, click on layer properties, select luminace legacy, now your tube part should be showing with the colour from the paper, yes ? lol i hope so.
Go to effects, textured effects, choose blinds with the following settings :-
Width - 4 Opacitiy - 15 Colour - Black Horizontal - Unchecked Light from Top - Checked.
Repeat the above step on ALL tube layers.
Click on the Circles layer, grab your magic wand, click inside one of the circles, you should see the marching ants round it now, go to selections, select modify, expand by 1, paste your main tube, i placed mine with the camera part inside the circle, selections invert & hit delete on your keyboard then select none.
Repeat this step for the other 2 Circles, i used the camera part on each circle again.
Click on the Cirlce Frames layer, either colourise or leave black as i did, go to effects, eye candy 4000, gradient glow with following settings :-
Glow Width - 3.00 Soft Corners - 25 Overall Opacitiy - 100 Colour - White or colour of your choice. Now add a small dropshadow to this layer.
Click on the very bottom white layer, paste paper of choice, go to layers, load mask from disc, then find the mask we loaded at the start (WSL Mask #12) Make sure the following settings are set...
Fit to canvas - checked Source luminace - checked Invert transparency - unchecked Hide Mask - checked.
Time to add your main tube, click on your top layer paste and resize if needed, place where liked on your tag. Dropshadow.
Choose some elements from the kit and place around the tag where you want them. Dropshadow elements.
Crop and resize now if you wish to, I resized to around 500x500 but you can go smaller if you like.
Add your name, I added the gradient glow to my name with a colour to match the tag.
Add artist info and copyright info.
Save as jpeg or .png. and we're done lol.
Thanks for trying my tutorial and i hope you enjoyed it would love to see your results, hippiedaze@hotmail.com
